Ernesto, I purchased and read Martha’s Kitchen and was pleasantly surprised. I don’t want to give any details away here, but suffice to say that the big plot twist really took me by surprise. I was reminded of an old jack-in-the-box that I had when I was a kid: Turn the handle to hear clunky, muted tones ….POP out comes a creepy clown – and I giggle with delight.
I would have appreciated more descriptive language, something that would have given me a deeper sense of “being there”. Along those lines, I would have liked it to be longer as well. I guess this is another way of saying … I wanted more.

I am glad you enjoyed Martha’s Kitchen. When it comes to descriptions in Short Stories I try to stay as economical as possible. I only do it as far as the theme of the story allows. However, my novel is very descriptive. I think it comes from being influenced by the South American short story masters like Borges and Cortazar. Sometimes they don’t even give a character a name!
I do understand where you’re coming from, and I’ll take that under consideration for future story-telling.
